How to Resolve Epson Printer Error Code 031008

Epson is one of the top printer manufacturers which offers a wide range of printer models. These devices are famous due to their reliability and easy interface. Once you configure the Epson Printer then you can take the printouts with good speed and quality. But sometimes the printer starts showing error code 031008 while taking printouts. The printer can show this error code due to issues on printer files. The user has to repair the files for repairing the Epson error code.

Common Causes for Epson Printer Error Code 

  1. The printer is unable to receive a print job
  2. Epson printer is not connected
  3. Computer viruses are corrupted the print job
  4. The ink cartridges are not working
  5. The printer driver is not installed on the PC

Troubleshooting Epson Printer Error Code 031008

Run Printer Troubleshooter

Epson printers can show errors when any of the printer-related files are not working. To fix the Epson errors; the user should try to run the troubleshooter. You can find the troubleshooter tool on the Update and Security tab. Search for a printer troubleshooter and then run it on the device.

After fixing those files, retry to take the printouts with your Epson device. Users should also run antivirus on the PC. Many times, print jobs get corrupted due to viruses. You should remove the viruses so the printer can find the correct job and take printouts reliably. 

Restart the Epson Printer

If the Epson Printer not Printing Properly then the user should try restarting the device. You should go to the printer and then check its functions. If some of the printer functions are not working correctly then you should restart them. A power restart is necessary to start the services from the beginning. While the printer is switched on; remove the power cable. Wait for a minute while the printer gets discharged fully. Reconnect the cable and then all printer functions will start from the beginning. Now you have to try taking the printouts. 

Check your Epson Printer Software

Printer software/ driver is necessary for running the printer. Without this software; your Epson printer gets into error. It can’t get the print job and shows errors. The user has to install this program on every device he connects to the printer. Every printer model has a different driver. You can’t use one Epson driver on every model. Check the PC for the correct driver of your printer.

The driver requires the update regularly. Install new update and then check the printer status. When the printer driver files get corrupted or when missing then you should reinstall the new Epson printer driver. Once the printer driver finds the new driver, it will start communicating with the PC and take the printouts.

Check the Cartridges

The cartridges of your Epson printer show error code 031008 when installed properly. If the Epson can’t fetch the ink, the printer will stop working. You have to check the cartridge slots. Go to the Epson printer and then open its access door. Check the ink on the cartridges. Now remove the cartridge and check the pins and contacts. If any pin is bent or damaged then replace the cartridge. Using the clone cartridges also gets an error as the printer can’t read those cartridges correctly.

If you are clone cartridge then replace it with an original Epson cartridge. In case you don’t want to purchase the original cartridge every time then get ink and refill it on the cartridge. While installing the refilled cartridge; check the slot status. If your Epson device is not reading the refilled cartridge then you have to uninstall all cartridges and reinstall them with the refilled one. Once your Epson device gets the correct cartridge, it will start working and the user can take his printouts.

Remove all Pending Jobs from the Epson Printer

The user gets error code 031008 when the memory is full and you are trying to give a new command. When the error appears, the user should try removing all the pending jobs from Epson. On the connected PC, go to the Devices and Printers folder. Select your Epson printer and click on the See What’s Printing option. Now check the printer job and select the Cancel button. After cancelling; restart the printer and again give the print command.
